We have received our first copies of the first edition books. They look good. Of course, we notice some small typographic errors and that the print run of the books is not quite as crisp and sharp in its images as our draft books. We could return the books to Blurb and ask for a reprinting but they don’t seem that bad.
Because the small changes are relatively easy to make, we will likely be making those changes in the Mankovich/Petrick book and replacing the Blurb content with the updated content whenever we can. We will proceed to change the “Edition” designation on the copyright page. We will also record here, the exact nature of the changes so that those who have earlier editions can review and print the change note as an “errata” to their own copies. Please note that the changes are small but we are a bit fanatical.
We also look forward to having others find typographic errors, errors in fact, errors of opinion, and errors in judgement. All are welcome and will be considered for future editions of the book.
The amount of effort put into maintaining the history book will depend upon how interested the family is in keeping and improving the collection.
Best regards, Nick and Betsy
